Very exciting news for advanced Parkinson's disease patients. With all the caveats associated with a 12-patient open-label study, the data look promising and the safety data look good too. While many better known PD symptoms are motor-related, there are many other non-motor symptoms, so it will be interesting to see whether the same technology can be applied to restore functions unrelated to dopaminergic neuronal loss.
